Feldmann Biography

Peggy A. Feldmann was appointed as the Chief Applications Officer by Governor Timothy M. Kaine in January 2008.  As the Chief Applications Officer for the Commonwealth, Ms. Feldmann is responsible for the Commonwealth’s data standardization, portfolio management and strategic applications planning.

Ms. Feldmann began her employment with the Commonwealth of Virginia in May 2007, when she was appointed as the Director, Enterprise Applications by Governor Kaine.  As the Director, Ms. Feldmann is responsible for modernizing the Commonwealth’s central administrative systems.  This effort will enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and provide cost-effective delivery of services. 

Prior to becoming the Director, Enterprise Applications, Ms. Feldmann served as an active duty Captain in the United States Navy.  Ms. Feldmann retired from the U. S. Navy in January 2007. 

In the U. S. Navy, Ms. Feldmann was a designated Major Program Manager with a number of her assignments involving planning and implementation of large scale programs.  Assignments included the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education).  Captain Feldmann was also the first Commanding Officer of the Navy’s Information Technology Center in New Orleans, LA.

Ms. Feldmann graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1980.  She received her Master of Science degree in Acoustical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA.  In addition, she was qualified as a hard hat Diving and Salvage Officer. 

Ms. Feldmann is married to Mr. Andy Brower, a Certified Public Accountant.  They have two children, Addie and Cory.
